Q. Do you offer free in-home estimates?
A. Yes! Our sales consultants will gladly come to your home to discuss design options and ideas.
Q. Do you make exterior shutters?
A. No, at Shenandoah Shutters we specialize in one impeccable window treatment – custom, all-wood, interior plantation shutters.
Q. What type of wood are your shutters made of?
A. The majority of our painted shutters are made from yellow poplar. Our stained shutters are usually made from basswood, a softer wood that more readily accepts the stain. Requests for custom woods such as cherry, oak or mahogany can usually be met.
Q. What is the square foot price of your shutters?
A. We do not price our shutters on a “per foot” basis. If you would like to call us with the approximate dimensions of your window we will be glad to give you a general quote over the phone. Everything, including installation and varying design options, is included in the quote.
Q. What are your payment terms?
A. Once you have decided on the design options that suit your particular taste and style then we request a 50% deposit be paid upon acceptance of the final quote. The balance is due upon installation of your new shutters. Financing terms are not available. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Checks and Cash.
Q. Can I get green (blue, red, purple, black…..) shutters to match my trim?
A. At Shenandoah Shutters we specialize in CUSTOM. We are able to make a “commercially acceptable” match for most all paint colors and stains. If it is a custom paint color that you would like, we will request a small “wet sample” of your original paint color (we’ll provide the collection container). If you have a custom stain that you would like matched, we will request a small piece of trim or other stained object that will be returned once we have matched the stain color.
Q. How long will it take to get my new shutters?
A. Our production time varies depending on our backlog of orders. Generally, your shutters can be installed 6 – 8 weeks from your acceptance of the final quote. Specialty shutters may take slightly longer. |
